“Rube & the Rhythm Rockers” is a dynamic new blues band with a lot of old experience. Featuring the classic 4 piece mix of guitar, bass, drums and harmonica, the band focuses on a varied bag of blues styles. From New Orleans rhumbas, straight Chicago blues, or West Coast jump and swing, the band offers driving grooves, hot solos and gritty expressive vocals.
Steve "Rube" Rubenstein handles most of the vocals and blows a mean harmonica. Steve is a 35 year veteran of blues. At 58 years he has played up and down the West Coast and in Chicago and Dallas as well. He has shared the stage with the likes of Terry Hanck, Ron Thompson, Mark Hummel, RJ Mischo, and several members of Lil Ed and the Blues Imperials to name a few. Rube has great tone and displays a unique melodic style. While relatively new to the vocal end, he has shown great progress over the last few years, to show a strong expressive voice and soulful delivery.
